Overview

The Fermion Incentivized Testnet allows participants to earn XP by completing on-chain actions like bidding on and checking out assets, as well as off-chain actions such as tweeting about the program and interacting on Discord.

These points are tracked on a leaderboard, where the community can compete for top rankings.

When

The Fermion Incentivized Testnet will run from the first week in November until Fermion Protocol Mainnet Launch. Please keep an eye on our social channels for the exact launch day.

Testnet phases

The opportunity to interact with our testnet is “always on” but over the testnet period we will be deploying weekly category launches including watches, wine and art. If you want to collect as many XP as possible, be sure to interact with each product launch!

Obtaining wETH

The incentivised testnet will run on Polygon Amoy, and players will require wETH and Polygon on Amoy. There are a few options to obtain wETH:

Use our own wETH Faucet: https://token-dispenser.vercel.app/
Request funds via a faucet, such as Alchemy’s Ethereum Sepolia Faucet or Chainlink’s Ethereum Sepolia Faucet (here you can also obtain sufficient Polygon for OpenSea transactions). Once you receive testing tokens from these faucets, ensure you bridge them over to Amoy here.
Mine Sepolia ETH on a faucet such as this. You will need to bridge them over to Amoy here, in order to use them on the incentivised testnet.
Send us a comment on our wETH distribution Discord channel and we will facilitate sending you a nominal amount within 24 hours.

Day start / end

For the purposes of calculating XP, the start and end time of each day will be set with reference to the UTC time zone.

Asset loading

Assets will be batch loaded daily and also at random times throughout the day to ensure we are as fair as possible across global time zones. Stay alert and keep your eyes peeled! 👀

Asset Categories

Asset categories will include Art, Watches, Fine wine & Spirits, Automobile, Real Estate and Commodities. The more you collect, the greater your XP.

Process for bidding on assets

To bid on an asset, visit the OpenSea collection page here, and find an asset that you would like to place a bid on. Clicking on the asset will take you to a detail page, where you can select ‘Make an offer’ or ‘Place bid.’

You can check if your bid has been accepted on your OpenSea profile page. The asset will also be displayed in the Buyer Hub on the Fermion dApp if your bid was accepted.

Process for checking out an assets

To begin the checkout process, visit the Buyer Hub on the Fermion dApp. If the status of your asset is ‘In Custody.’ you can hover over the asset and select the ‘Checkout’ button. This action is also available under ‘Actions,’ when you have the list view enabled. You will be prompted to sign a transaction to confirm checkout, and once completed successfully completes the checkout process.

If the status is ‘In Verification,’ your asset is not yet available for checkout. Verification can take up to two days, so we recommend visiting the Buyer Hub periodically.

Remember, the leaderboard on Absinthe can take take up to few hours to refresh the correct amount of XP on your account.
